“Alone, Unarmed, and Unafraid” McDonnell Douglas RF-4C Phantoms

“Alone, Unarmed, & Unafraid” was the motto of the 12th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. It’s also the title of my artwork featuring the McDonnell Douglas RF-4C Phantom II.

“Alone, Unarmed, and Unafraid” features a pair of RF-4C Phantoms that were assigned to the 12th TRS, who were based at Tan Son Nhut Air Base as part of the 460th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing. They flew combat reconnaissance sorties over North Vietnam, South Vietnam, and Laos. The squadron flew over 2,000 combat sorties its first month in Southeast Asia, and more than 26,000 combat sorties (and 53,000 hours) over a 5-year period, two thirds of which were at night.

This 24×18 fine art print is limited to 20 hand-signed and numbered editions. Each is printed on 60 lb. acid-free archival paper to ensure the print’s paper and colors remain vivid and free of yellowing for many years to come with proper care. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity bearing my signature, the print number, and other information.
